Rockingham Shipwrecks and Dive Trails
Surrounded by safe calm waters, pristine beaches and fascinating marine life, Rockingham provides spectacular snorkelling and dive trails for the experienced and inexperienced diver.
An easy shore-based dive trail is located 50-meters from the Rockingham Foreshore and is easily accessed via Flinders Lane carpark. The trail has a collection of small wrecks and airplanes and sits under safe calm waters – ideal for learning to dive or snorkelling with children.
A dive site with a tale of local history is the Saxon Ranger Dive Wreck located offshore in Warnbro Sound within the Shoalwater Island Marine Park. Sunk in 2005, the Saxon Ranger was a large tuna fishing ship owned by a local fisherman. The wreck can be reached by boat and a permit is required to dive the site.
